Zimbabwe is bracing for the hosting of the Zone 6 volleyball club championships set for ZITF hall 3 from the 7th – 17th of December with high hopes of good performances by local sides.

35 teams from eight countries are set to descend on Bulawayo to compete in this elite Southern African volleyball competition.

Zimbabwe will be represented by Spartans, Support Unit and UZ in both the men and women’s categories.

NABA will be sending a men’s team only while Harare City will have a female team taking to the courts during the volleyball jamboree.

Local organising committee chairperson, William Mazwiro indicated that preparatory work is on course with necessary equipment expected in the city soon.

Zimbabwe will be expecting nothing short of top results following the last edition hosted by Namibia where NABA and UZ lost in the finals in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

The tournament was last hosted by Zimbabwe about 20 years ago in Harare, with its return set to bring a spice of excitement for the festive season.
