China has pledged to continue upholding the principle of sincerity and preservation of justice, while pursuing shared interests in its dealings with Zimbabwe.

This was said by the Chinese President, Mr Xi Jingping in a special message delivered to President Emmerson Mnangagwa at Munhumutapa offices in Harare today.

The Chinese special envoy, Mr Chen Xiaodong also congratulated Cde Mnangagwa for being sworn in as the new president of Zimbabwe.

He also conveyed Chinese President Xi’s invitation for President Mnangagwa to visit China.

President Mnangagwa and the special envoy held wide ranging discussions to explore ways of furthering friendship between the two countries as well as moving forward bilateral ties and cooperation in various spheres.

The meeting was also attended by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Governor Dr John Mangudya, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and foreign affairs officials.

Mr Chen said his visit demonstrates the support and trust that China has for Zimbabwe, adding that the two countries are all weather friends.
