ZAS shopping mall on the cards

The Zimbabwe Agriculture Society (ZAS) has embarked on a multi-million dollar shopping mall project to cater for the Harare Exhibition Park and surrounding areas. The shopping mall, which will be constructed by ZAS at an estimated cost of $20 million is set to change the face of the Harare Exhibition Park, which is home to the country’s premier farming event, the Harare Agricultural Show. ZAS CEO, Dr Anxious Masuka said the project has commenced with relocation of workshops built at the shopping mall site, since the old one will be demolished to pave way for the new development. “Once construction starts, we expect the project to take 12 months before completion. We are in discussion with local investors who will finance the mall and operate it for a number of years after,” he said. 15 prisoners have received certificates after completing one year vocational training courses in various fields. The inmates were presented with certificates during a first of its kind graduation ceremony held this Wednesday in Harare. The industrial index marginally dropped on trading this Wednesday despite renewed interests by investors on the market. Trading on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) was characterised by limited trading volumes, resulting in the mainstream industrial index shedding 5,07 percent to 329,63 points, while the mining index remained unchanged at 129,82 points.
