The Ministry of Health and Child Care says it has so far received $18 million from the Health Levy Fund which will go towards the purchase of drugs.
‘Please call, please chat’, that is the message from the Minister of Health and Child Care Dr David Parirenyatwa when he revealed that his ministry has so far received $18 million from the Health Levy Fund from the 5 cents per every dollar of airtime which he said will help the country be self sufficient in drug supply.
Dr Parirenyatwa who was addressing stakeholders at the handover of hospital linen to Marondera Hospital from POSB also said his ministry has bid for $1.19 billion in the 2018 budget.
The donation is set to ease shortage of linen at the province’s biggest referral centre which at one time had to request patients to bring their own linen.
Chitungwiza Central Hospital is one of the hospitals that has also benefitted from the same programme.
