Players in the construction sector are mulling synergies to position themselves better in bidding for and carrying out major projects.
As players in the construction sector get ready to partake in the dualisation of the Masvingo – Beitbridge Highway, there seems to be consensus that partnerships are crucial in order for them to deliver efficiently.
Though bemoaning the difficulties in accessing cheap loans, which can put them on an unequal footing with their international counterparts, the local contractors said they are ready to exploit the opportunities available in the construction of the billion dollar road.
While addressing delegates, who attended the Zimbabwe Builders Contractors Association Conference, Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Dr Paul Chimedza said it is key for local construction companies to ensure that they deliver when entrusted with big projects.
Dr Chimedza said the government continues to work on creating a conducive environment for local business people.
The construction sector players are advocating for financial support loans to recapacitate their operations.
