Radio is reputed as the medium for the people and the statement was indeed proven beyond doubt at a road show held by one of ZBC’s flagship stations Radio Zimbabwe at Murambinda growth point in Buhera.

In the true spirit of taking radio to the people, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation has been engaging listeners countrywide through road shows.

This time the Radio Zimbabwe whirlwind descended on Murambinda 2 High School in Buhera and it was a dream come true for the locals coming face to face with personalities that they have for long only heard behind the speakers and yet yearned to meet.

Radio Zimbabwe fans who in their minds had imagined the likes of Richmond Siyakurima, Manjenjenje, Thabani Gambiza, Patricia Jacob, Ndundu Chikara and Elsie Mojapelo among others had the opportunity to see and interact with them.

Radio Zimbabwe chief producer, Mr Albert Chekai hailed the people of Murambinda for coming out in their numbers, highlighting that the support that they have received at all the road shows has been overwhelming.

The road shows have also been an opportunity for various artists such as Mark Ngwazi and the Njanja Express, Lucky Kumene and the Power Express, Sugar Sugar as well as Varumbidzi Voices to serenade listeners and sometimes jostle them into wild dancing moves.
