A locally manufactured boat stole the limelight in Hwange today as residents jostled to have a glimpse of it. First abattoir opens in Chipinge

The opening of the first abattoir in lower Chipinge has created a viable market for farmers who were finding it difficult to sell their cattle due to the foot and mouth disease. Of the 590 000 cattle in Manicaland Province, 96 000 are found in Chipinge district and 65 000 in lower Chipinge where farmers have been facing difficulties in selling them. The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) says the deal to resuscitate the bulk goods and passenger carrier will help turn-around the fortunes of the company. The 2017 edition of the Hwange open golf tournament has kicked off in the mining town with overwhelming participation from both professionals and amateurs. The annual golf tournament attracted a total of 140 players, 100 of them amateurs. Companies and individuals who excelled in the customer service sector have been honoured for their efforts in delivering top notch service to consumers. Several firms scooped awards for delivering good service to customers at an awards ceremony in Harare. Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Mr Cosmas Chigwamba said the level of customer service delivery in the country is impressive although more can be done in order to meet ever changing consumer demands.
