Zim prepares for Cop23

The civil society has partnered the government in drafting a position paper to be presented at the 23rd edition of the Conference of Parties (Cop 23) meeting set for Germany next month.

Acting Director – Climate Management in the Ministry of Environment, Water and Culture, Elisha Moyo said the civil society is key in addressing legal aspects of climate change and reducing emissions, among other issues.

Zimbabwe Environmental Lawyers Association (ZELA) Legal Researcher, Tafadzwa Dhlakama explained the importance of the partnership in coming up with measures to combat climate change in the country.

The conference of parties’ summit is a global forum that brings together world leaders to deliberate on ways to combat climate change and adapt to its impact.
