Chihota community embraces water harvesting

Villagers in Chihota communal areas in Marondera have embraced the command water harvesting programme which is set to bring many benefits to the community. Villagers from the surrounding villages who have also been providing labour during construction of the dam are happy that the project will change their lives. International airlines to get free landing rights

The government is mooting offering incentives for international flight carriers such as free landing rights among others to lure them back onto the Zimbabwean route and boost the country’s tourism industry. The proposed incentives by Treasury are meant to restore the viability of the country’s aviation sector which at its peak in the 1990s enjoyed 42 international flights that included 20 cargo planes. According to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development there is strong consideration to forward this proposal to cabinet for the 2018 national budget.
