The Marondera Municipality says it is happy with the assistance received from the government for the emergency road rehabilitation programme being held in the area.

Marondera Municipality chamber secretary Mr Rinashe Nyamuzihwa told Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Retired Brigadier General Ambrose Mutinhiri who was on a tour of the emergency road rehabilitation programme in Marondera that the local authority is happy with the work done so far which has improved the state of the roads.

Cde Mutinhiri said he hopes more funds will be availed so that all the roads are rehabilitated.

Marondera Municipality was allocated a total of US$2.8 million for the emergency road rehabilitation programme and so far a total of 35 kilometres have been covered with US$1.7 million having already been paid to the contractors.
