President Robert Mugabe has castigated US president Donald Trump for his speech at the 72nd ordinary session of the United Nations General Assembly that seemed to threaten other nations.

In his speech, Mr Trump threatened to obliterate North Korea and also attacked Iran, in a manner condemned by many delegates.

President Mugabe called on Mr Trump to work on bringing unity, peace and cooperation togetherness and dialogue to the world.

He said there should be respect for each nation’s independence and sovereignty.

Meanwhile, President Mugabe said Zimbabwe supports Africa’s position regarding reforms of the UN Security Council saying the process is moving slowly.

He said the current set up of the UN perpetuates a historical injustice adding that the gap between poor and rich nations continues to widen.
