The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says Mashonaland Central Province will have a total of 853 voter registration centres.

ZEC has started the training of personnel on the biometric voter registration (BVR) in Mashonaland Central Province ahead of the voter registration exercise set to commence on the 14th of this month.

84 participants comprising the ZEC provincial staff and supervisors are participating in the two day BVR training programme in Bindura.

Mashonaland Central provincial elections officer, Ms Thenjiwe Mnkandla said the voter registration exercise will be done in phases starting with Muzarabani and Mbire district.

According to ZEC at least seven million voters will be registered during the BVR exercise countrywide.
