Zimbabwe players were in for a tough time on day 2 of the Blackball Pool African championships after all local players failed to make the quater finals.
Zimbabwean players struggled to assert themselves in the men’s singles of the Blackball Pool championships.
All local players were eliminated before reaching the quarter final stage of a competition which has been graced by players from South Africa, Zambia, Uganda and Kenya.
In the team event South Africa top the standings with 7 points, Uganda is second with 4 points, Zimbabwe third with 33 points while Zambia is fourth with 2 points.
3 time African champion and former world champion Wetsi Morake of South Africa said competition in Africa is improving pointing to the need for greater financial support so as to enable the continent sending more teams or world championships.
While Zimbabwe struggled in the male category of the singles, Roselyn Ndabambi held her own in the women’s category booking a berth in the quarter finals.
Action is set to end tomorrow with a prize giving ceremony.
