Football fans in and around Bulawayo have been urged to give the Mighty Warriors full support as they represent the country at the upcoming COSAFA senior women championships from the 13th to the 24th of September.

As the countdown to Zimbabwe’s hosting of the tournament in Bulawayo gathers momentum, football fans have been called upon to give the women’s team the much needed support and rally it towards retaining the championship the team last won in 2011.

The provisional team is currently in camp preparing for the battle of the region under the care of head coach, Sithethelelwe Sibanda ‘Kwinji 15.’

Women’s football Vice Chairperson, Samukeliso Silengane said they hope to use the event to reignite passion in the women’s game.

The Mighty Warriors were drawn in Group A together with northern neighbours, Zambia, Madagascar and Malawi.

Kwinji 15’s ladies will open their campaign against Madagascar on the 13th of September at Babourfields stadium, followed by a tricky tie against Shepolopolo of Zambia, before concluding the group fixtures against Malawi on the 17th of September.
