President Mugabe officially opens Agric Show

President Robert Mugabe has officially opened the 107th edition of the Harare Agricultural Show at the Glamis Arena. Delivering his key note address this afternoon, President Mugabe thanked all stakeholders for a successful agricultural show and called for increased collaboration to enhance and sustain agricultural production. He commended the increased quality of exhibitions and increased number of exhibitors and the anticipated 250 000 people who are expected to pass through the show gates this year. The First Lady Dr Amai Grace Mugabe has applauded the government’s initiative to downsize some farms so that people are left with pieces of land they can fully utilise, while those who had not benefitted earlier from the land reform programme can also acquire pieces of land. UPDATE: Min. Mathema visits Kamativi accident victims

The Minister of State for Matabeleland North province Ambassador Cain Mathema has visited victims of Kamativi road accident at the Colliery Hospital in Hwange. Ambassador Mathema was accompanied by members of the Department of Civil Protection as well as church leaders from the True Apostolic Mission. He urged the leadership of church to help facilitate travel arrangements for congregants. Ambassador Mathema hailed those who came to assist the accident victims. Today the people of Gutu in Masvingo and Mashonaland Central are bidding farewell to the late National Heroine Mbuya Maud Muzenda and national hero Cde George Rutanhire, respectively.
