The people of Mudzi have been urged to adopt new farming methods to continue having a bumper harvest as experienced this season.

Despite being under natural region 4 Mudzi district this year had a bumper harvest which had not been achieved over the years.

Mtoko District Administrator, Mr Isaiah Mukamba who was the guest speaker at the Mudzi Agricultural Show warned farmers not to relax thinking that the good rains will continue hence the need to invest in other farming methods like irrigation so that they continue to have good a harvest throughout the year.

Sorghum has proved to be the best crop in the district with 967 tonnes having been delivered to the GMB so far this year while 421 tonnes of maize have been delivered.

Farmers who were judged the best received various prizes which include wheelbarrows, ploughs and inputs with the first prize winner receiving a scotch cart.
