Highlanders head coach Erol “Mkabayi” Akbay remains defiant that his side is still in the running for the top crown despite trailing the log leaders Ngezi Platinum by 11 points.
Bosso has endured a difficult spell that has seen the once trail blazing side being handed heavy defeats in their 2017 Castle Lager Premiership campaign.
The last was a 2-0 loss to ZPC Kariba on the road, in a 2017 premiership campaign that has seen Mkabayi’s side recording 5 losses, 5 draws and 9 wins in their 19 matches.
Bosso were on Tuesday also humiliated 3-0 by the ZDF Select, something that has caused a lot of panic among the Bosso faithfuls.
Akbay however remains optimistic that he can find the winning formula to lift his side to land the coveted crown last won in 2006 under Methembe Ndlovu.
News that Akbay will not be renewing his contract with the club that runs out at the end of the year has also not made life easier for him with a section of the fans questioning his commitment knowing that he will not be around next year.
Many among the black and white juggernaut will however see rays of hope for the future following the fine display by the club’s developmental side, Bosso 90 that outclassed Dynamos 2-0 in a Heroes Day encounter on Monday at Rufaro Stadium.
