Zimbabwe is coming up with a national branding strategy aimed at improving the image of the country as a safe and viable destination for business activities.

Concern is being raised over the need to improve the image of the nation on the back of low foreign direct investments.

While consultations are in progress about proposed systems of the strategy, it emerged at the media nation branding meeting in the capital, the success of the strategy will depend on implementation.

The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Dr Walter Mzembi who was addressing members of the Editors Forum said government will therefore work with the private sector in ensuring the set targets of the strategy are achieved.

Captains of industry and commerce are proposing for a national branding strategy which focuses on the need to increase confidence in sectors with a potential to earn funds from the exports.
