Mighty Warriors provisional squad named

The Mighty Warriors technical team has finally announced a 30 member provisional team for the COSAFA tournament set for Bulawayo next month. Coach Sithethelewe ‘Kwinji 15’ Sibanda and assistant coach Paddington Chinyan’anya named their squad amid revelations the two were involved  in a selection impasse with the former going for a squad that have players from all teams while the latter advocated for the best talent. People living with disability have called for equal opportunities to participate in social, economic and political spheres. A major conference on disability, citizenship and participation in Africa convened by the University of Zimbabwe kicked off in Harare on Wednesday bringing under spotlight issues affecting people living with disability. Inter-Cities Sports Festival preps on course

Over 4000 athletes and officials are expected to participate at this year’s 3rd edition of the Inter-Cities Social Sports Festival set for Bindura at the end of next month. 12 local authorities have confirmed participation in the event that will feature disciplines such as soccer, volleyball, netball, chess, pool darts and tug of war. Manicaland Province is proposing for the establishment of an airport to realise benefits arising from the establishment of special economic zones. Local authorities bemoan financial leakages

For many local authorities’ water leakages, failure to collect revenue effectively and account for citizens in their locality has put a major limitation on service delivery. According to the World Bank- sponsored service level benchmarking annual report, revenue collection by Zimbabwe’s urban councils dropped to 52 percent last year, from 60 percent the previous year.
