Access to housing stands from local authorities at affordable prices is still a struggle many Zimbabweans are faced with.
Banks have been called upon to assist local authorities with finance as well as availing stands to residents of Bindura who have been grappling with housing challenges for some time.
Project manager for China Industrial International Group, Mr Bishop Jeche, whose technology has also been embraced as a solution to the housing crisis in the country, says engaging finance houses can help speed up the rate at which Zimbabweans can access shelter.
Bindura Town Council says they are also keen to ensure residents access housing and have also set their sights on the banking sector to finance housing costs.
To ease the housing backlog, the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing launched the Own Your Own Home initiative, which is expected to see over 300 000 housing units being availed.
