A local financial institution Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has donated 400 blankets worth US$7000 to Harare Central Hospital children’s ward as it lives up to its promise of reaching out to the needy.

Harare Central Hospital is a national and highest level referral centre which caters for patients from far and wide.

It is a busy health facility which attends to patients from most city clinics, private hospitals and district and provincial hospitals covering a radius of 200km.

“This Thursday (today), the hospital received 400 blankets from a local financial institution worth US$7000 and the blankets will go a long way in bringing warmth to the children ward,” said Harare Hospital chief executive officer, Mrs Peggy Zvavamwe.

Stanbic Bank chairman, Greg Sebborn and the company’s chief executive officer, Mr Josh Tapambgwa said they are focusing on making a difference in Africa, which the institution calls home.

The bank corporate social responsibility strategy targets health and sanitation, education, sport development among other areas.
