The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) has launched the 2017 Heroes’ holiday campaign to reduce road carnage.

The campaigns are expected to continue throughout the holiday with teams already deployed along major high ways.

Transport operators, public transport drivers and the public were part of the crowd that witnessed the official launch of the TSCZ campaign against road accidents in Harare.

TSCZ Managing Director, Mr Obio Chinyere said they are engaging drivers with a view to reduce accidents caused by human error.

A representative of transporters, Mr Ngoni Mutsvairo encouraged other operators to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and avoid the use of death trap vehicles.

The public applauded TSCZ for empowering them through educational campaigns.

Human error is one of the major causes of accidents and the move to raise awareness in all road users is expected to change the attitude of drivers and reduce road carnage.
