Veteran broadcaster Mandizha buried

Hundreds of people thronged the Glen Forest Cemetery this Tuesday (today) to lay to rest veteran broadcaster, Dominic Mandizha who died last Saturday at the Avenues Clinic. Mandizha succumbed to diabetes and hypertension. Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Christopher Mushohwe described Mandizha as a humble man who worked for a good cause in the media fraternity. Family spokesperson, Mr Simon Mandizha said the family has lost a pillar of strength who was generous and thanked all those who assisted the family during the time of bereavement. The late veteran broadcaster was born in Mhondoro in 1937 and did his secondary education at St Francis Xavier College Kutama. He joined the then Southern Rhodesia Broadcasting Corporation now ZBC in 1964 as a programme producer. Preparations for the 2017 edition of the Harare Agricultural Show are now at an advanced stage, with over 92 percent of the available exhibition space already occupied. Liberation war hero Cde Harupeni buried

Liberation war hero Major Warren Hapureni who died last Friday has been laid to rest at the Harare Provincial Heroes Acre with full military honours. Hundreds of people thronged the cemetery to bid farewell to Cde Hapureni. Representing Harare Metropolitan Province Minister of State, Cde Miriam Chikukwa, deputy director in her office, Mr Ignatius Mungure described the late Cde Hapureni as a dedicated and hardworking man who was loyal for his country until his death. Family representatives said they have lost a unifier, a friend and a figure father. Cde Hapureni’s Chimurenga name was Cde Artwell Chitepo. He was born on the 29th of June in 1959. Six Harare armed robbery suspects, who allegedly stole property worth $55000 around the capital, have appeared in court facing charges of unlawful entry into premises in aggravating circumstances. Interestingly, only $85 was recovered from the loot.
