Champions Caps United bounced back to winning ways after registering a 1-nil victory over ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
The first half had no clear cut chances created with both sides restricted to shooting from range in a game which went to the half time break deadlocked at nil all.
Dominic Chungwa however put Caps United fans on their feet with a screamer which thrust the Green Machine into a 1-nil lead in the 66th minute.
ZPC Kariba threatened to equalise in the 71st minute but some good goalkeeping by Prosper Chigumba ensured Makepekepe maintained the 1-nil lead.
ZPC had a decent chance of equalising just before full time but Raphael Manuvire could not find the target from a free kick in a promising position.
The game ended in a 1-nil victory for Caps United whose assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi was over the moon.
ZPC Kariba head coach Sunday Chidzambwa came out fuming, threatening to resign if his players do not put their act together.
In other encounters Highlanders and Harare City drew nil all while in the Lowveld Triangle edged Bantu Rovers 1-nil.
Hwange bounced back from a loss to Ngezi Platinum last weekend to overcome Chapungu 2 nil.
