Mazowe Agricultural Show records bumper exhibitors

Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Deputy Minister, responsible for cropping, Cde Davis Marapira officially opened the Mazowe Valley Agriculture Show in Bindura amid calls for farmers to deliver their produce to the Grain Marketing Board. The 2017 Mazowe Valley Agricultural Show has witnessed a record number of exhibitors as compared to previous years with 65 corporate companies and 185 small scale farmers participating. Rusape town council holds sport extravaganza

Rusape town council scored a first as they became the first local authority to heed the clarion call to hold sports festivals for its community to be visible in sports. St George’s College were crowned champions of the AKG Chisz under 17 schools football tournament held in the capital on Saturday (yesterday). St George’s overcame Peterhouse boys 2-1 in the final. The tournament comprised 12 schools. Veteran broadcaster Mandizha dies

Veteran broadcaster, Dominic Mandizha who died yesterday (Saturday) at the Avenues Clinic in Harare has been described as a hard worker, caring and generous man who worked to empower Zimbabweans through the airwaves. Mandizha who succumbed to diabetes and hypertension will be buried this Tuesday at Glen Forest. Family, friends, relatives and former workmates have described him as a hard worker and a generous man who will be greatly missed. Mandizha was part of the ZBC Top executives who championed the transformation of the national broadcaster from being a propaganda machinery of the colonial settler regime, into a people’s station. The veteran broadcaster together with the likes of Cde Webster Shamu, Gray Marongwe and Tirivafi Kangai played a leading role in introducing Radio 4 an educational channel and ZBC TV Channel 2.
