Soccer development programme for UMP

Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe (UMP) district in Mashonaland East has come up with a programme for soccer development starting at grassroots level. The soccer development programme which is targeting all schools in the district is a partnership between the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, UMP Rural District Council and Uzumba legislator, Cde Simbaneuta Mudarikwa. Illegal structures face demolition in Goromonzi

A technical committee set up to probe illegal sale of land in Goromonzi Rural District Council (RDC) has recommended the demolition of illegal structures and the restoration of land to its original state. The technical committee recommended that the first step would be to approach the courts for demolition orders. 10 irrigation schemes rehabilitated in Mat South

Food security and nutrition as well as household incomes are set to improve  in Matabeleland South Province following the rehabilitation of 10 irrigation schemes under the Small Holder Irrigation Programme. The four-year Small Holder Irrigation Programme funded by the European Union to the tune of US$6 million and was targeted at Matabeleland South and Manicaland provinces is set to end this December. The government should take serious initiatives to ensure all rural households have piped water. Tsholotsho school composes song on national pledge

Tsholotsho High School choir has successfully composed a song using the national pledge which came into being last year. The song was launched on the sidelines of the Provincial Merit Awards for Matabeleland North, which were held at Nyamandlovu Secondary school in Umguza.
