The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) has opened the workers rehabilitation centre located adjacent to Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo.
The state of the art rehabilitation centre boasts of facilities and personnel to deal with physiotherapy, gymnasium, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy and other dormitories.
NSSA board chairman, Mr Robin Vera says the centre has since diversified and is now open to the members of the public apart from workers who get injured at work.
The Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Mrs Prisca Mupfumira who officiated at the occasion says it is government’s policy to ensure that injured people get rehabilitated and reunited with society.
The centre is a massive boost for workers who get injured at the workplace, who in the previous had to seek such medical attention from outside the country or at expensive private rehabilitation centres in the country.
The occasion is running under the theme, “Rehabilitate, Return to Work”.
