All is set for the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) elections which have in the past week been shrouded in doubt after one of the candidates Charles Mukaronda threatened to take legal action against ZOC over allegations of contravening the constitution.

The much waited ZOC elections are scheduled for Prince Edward High School this Sunday.

One of the candidates Mukaronda says he wrote to ZOC through his lawyer indicating involvement in Sunday’s poll would be under protest if the ZOC board members are allowed to vote.

Despite the controversy surrounding the voting legitimacy of the ZOC board Mukaronda remains bullish ahead of the elections.

Admire Masenda, Joe Rugwete and Mukaronda are the three candidates that will be vying for presidency.

Seven time Olympic medallist Kirsty Coventry, Thabani Gonye, Martin Kweza and Frederick Ndhlovu will be contesting for the two vice president posts.

Cleopas Nyangoni and Godfrey Sunguro will be battling for the position of treasurer with Leticia Chipandu and Kirsty Coventry guaranteed of board positions via article 15 of the constitution which makes it mandatory for the board to be made up of at least three women.
