President Mugabe in Bulawayo for ZITF

President Robert Mugabe has arrived in Bulawayo for the official opening of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) set for tomorrow. ZEC calls for timeous funding of elections

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says timeous disbursement of funds for elections is critical for the smooth running of the process. ZEC Chairperson, Justice Rita Makarau said this while addressing students of course number 5 of 2016 at the National Defence College on electoral challenges, the new constitution and the 2018 election road map. VP Mnangagwa tours ZITF stands

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the government is committed to facilitate the implementation of value addition systems to unlock production in the economy. He said this during a tour of various stands at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo today. The First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe has implored African women not to rest on their laurels but to work hard and be role models to the girl child. Govt launches US$50m mining fund

The government has launched a US$50 million small scale miners facility, meant to capacitate gold production in the country which could see the sector increasing gold production by over 500 percent and spurring the country’s economic growth. The funding was sourced from Sakunda Energy and takes the state related funding to small scale gold producers to US$90 million after Fidelity Printers and Refineries increased its loan facility from US$20 million to US$40 million late last year. Three people were injured in a road traffic accident involving three vehicles near Tm South Chinhoyi. The injured include a pedestrian and two passengers who were travelling in a Honda Fit that was rammed into by a Toyota Hilux.
