The Chinese business community in Zimbabwe, the Chinese Red Cross and embassy has donated foodstuffs worth US$60 000 comprising mealie-meal, sugar and salt to communities affected by floods.

The Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Huang Ping, handed over the consignment to the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Cde Saviour Kasukuwere this morning.

The consignment comes just two weeks after another donation of US$1 million from the Chinese government.

Ambassador Huang said Chinese people are looking forward to doing more business with Zimbabwe in the industrialisation programme and increasing industrial capacity utilisation.

Meanwhile, Cde Kasukuwere urged both local and Chinese  business people to take up opportunities in the reconstruction of  infrastructure and road networks that were damaged by floods.
