Foreign artists who participated in the country’s independence celebrations have been commended for playing an important role in uniting the people of Zimbabwe.

Jamaican music superstars Turbulence and Mega Banton together with the Ghanaian music star Episode performed at the independence eve gala in Harare that saw foreign and local artists exhibiting outstanding performances that excited revellers.

Music loving Zimbabweans said the participation of foreign musicians at the country’s independence eve gala should inspire Zimbabweans to give the country’s independence commemorations the importance they deserve.

The participation by Jamaican musicians at this year’s independence commemorations was inspired by the legendary reggae musician Bob Marley who performed during the country’s first independence celebrations in 1980.
