Zanu PF Harare happy with turnout at audits

The ruling Zanu PF party has expressed satisfaction with the turnout registered in all districts in Harare Province for the on-going audit and verification exercise which commenced this weekend. In Tafara 1 South and Amai Grace Mugabe districts in ward 20, Tafara Mabvuku constituency, Zanu PF supporters gathered to update their names on the party register, while new members were also being registered. Zanu PF Harare Provincial Political Commissar, Cde Shadreck Mashayamombe, commended the revolutionary party’s supporters for the impressive turnout. The verification exercise is being conducted countrywide to mobilise supporters and to strengthen party structures ahead of the 2018 harmonised election. 5000 tourists benefit from KAZA univisa facility

Nearly 5000 tourists have to date used the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) univisa facility which Zambia and Zimbabwe revived and re-started from the 21st of December last year when the two countries signed a new memorandum of understanding. The KAZA univisa facility facilitates entry and exit of tourists from 65 countries in group ‘b’ of visa regime in the two countries using one visa obtained either side. Auditions for news presenters of national languages spilled into day two at ZBC Montrose Studios in Bulawayo due to the overwhelming response from the public. The national broadcaster now has news presenters in nine minority languages namely: Xhosa, Ndau, Kalanga, Chewa, Tshangani, Venda, Sotho, Tonga and Nambya that will be based at Montrose Studios. Women in the informal sector have been called upon to empower themselves through training in marketing skills for their businesses to grow. Several business women in the informal sector, most of them, widows, received a boost following the completion of a training programme in entrepreneurship. ZRP increases patrols in Harare

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says it has intensified day and night patrols within greater Harare suburbs following an increase in car theft smash and grab crimes. With the rainy season upon us and tall grass and maize crop along the roads, robbers are targeting motorists and smash and grabs are on the increase, compelling the ZRP to increase and intensify day and night patrols to protect the travelling public. “Of course we have increased patrols but motorists must be alert on the road as it takes less than a minute for a thief to break into a car and snatch a laptop, handbag and a purse, ZRP Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said. Govt resumes land evaluation in Mash East, West

The government will resume the accelerated land evaluation exercise in Mashonaland East and West provinces next month after it had been stopped due to the incessant rains. The Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Dr Douglas Mombeshora said the exercise has already been completed in Mashonaland Central province and technical teams have moved to conduct assets evaluation in Mashonaland East and West provinces.
