visual art.jpgOver 200 local artists are expected to take part in one of the biggest arts exhibitions organised by the National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe that will run from next month until July.


National Arts Gallery’s Spokesperson Mr. Eddy Mavhengere said the three month exhibition running under the theme, “live and direct”, is aimed at promoting visual arts in the country in different genres such as sculpture, photography and print making.


Mr. Mavhengere said prices have been set for the top three artists who will be chosen by adjudicators. The top artist will walk away with US$10 000, with the second placed artist winning US$5 000 while the third placed will get US$3 000.  


The exhibition which will be held annually will be one of the biggest visual arts displays to be hosted in the country and is expected to offer artists in the visual arts industry, a platform to market their works as well as exchange notes and skills.
