2 Infantry Brigade are this year’s champions of the inter-formations reconnaissance platoon competition held at Wafawafa Special Forces Training Camp in Kariba.
The closing ceremony of this year’s edition of the competition began with shooting and tactical river crossing demonstrations.
The competition was meant to ensure that all Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) formations continue to master and practice the fundamentals of reconnaissance.
“This competition has helped enhance army members’ proficiency in surveillance, target acquisitions, equipment identification and equally build their endurance capacity,” noted Major General David Sigauke.
Due to harsh and dangerous situations encountered by reconnaissance troops, the competition had its own casualties.
This year’s competition is the fourth edition and has been code named: ‘Ex-Tsikamutanda4.’
The troops competed on various skills which include map reading, ground to air communication, civic military relations, tracking skills and tactical river crossing.
