Hosts 2 Brigade were crowned champions of a week-long sports gala that ended in the capital on Saturday (yesterday).

Excitement engulfed 2 Brigade which hosted a sports gala.

In the much awaited football final, 2 Brigade were crowned champions after romping to a 4-2 penalty shootout after the contest had ended 1-all in regulation time.

Also a main attraction was the tug of war final in which 2.3 Infantry Battalion got the better of 2.2 Infantry Battalion to land gold.

Brigadier General Stephen Gwekwerere outlined the significance of the sports competition in fostering unity and a spirit of team work.

The uniformed forces have over the years played an important role of serving as a breeding ground for talent that has gone on to represent the country.

It is from competitions such as the one held at 2 Brigade where army teams identify talent.
