A Casa C-212 aircraft crashed in western Indonesia on Thursday morning killing all the 18 people on board who included four children.
Two search teams were lowered in the mountainous crash site and confirmed the deaths.
Reports say the aircraft sent an emergency signal before disappearing from Radar.
Indonesia relies heavily on air transport and has a poor aviation safety record.
In May this year, 27 people died when a passenger plane crashed into the sea off the eastern province of West Papua.
