10 people were on Monday evening burnt to death when the car they were travelling in was involved in a head on collision with a haulage truck along Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway.
Acting Matabeleland South Provincial Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Loveless Mangena said the driver of the South Africa registered Totoya Hilux double cab that was travelling from Bulawayo to Beitbridge encroached on the lane of on-coming traffic, resulting in a collision with a haulage truck before the Toyota burst into flames.
Bodies of four males were recovered while six others were burnt beyond recognition.
The driver of the haulage truck was taken to Gwanda Provincial Hospital where he is admitted.
Meanwhile, police are appealing to the public to assist in identifying the bodies.
