One person died while 4 others were injured when a Nissan Vanette omnibus rammed onto a stationery truck in Banket.
The accident occurred early this morning.
The truck had broken down and police said there were no triangular reflectors to warn motorists of an impending hazard.
The omnibus driver Lawrence Histiri said he thought the truck was in motion adding that by the time he attempted to avoid ramming into the truck he realised there was an oncoming vehicle and the best he could do was to hit the stationery truck from behind.
Police spokesperson for Mashonaland West Inspector Clemence Mabgeazara confirmed that there were no triangular reflectors put on the road to warn other motorists of the presence of a hazard in the middle of the road and urged motorists to observe these key road requirements.
