The Zimbabwe national soccer team’s preparations are now in full throttle following the arrival of Tendayi Darikwa and Belgium based Marvelous Nakamba who has been ruled out of Sunday’s encounter owing to injury.
It’s intense preparation for the Warriors who will on Sunday face Congo Brazzaville in an encounter where Zimbabwe need to either win or draw in order to book a ticket at Africa’s biggest football showpiece.
Though boosted by the availability of Darikwa who joined camp, skipper Knowledge Musona emerged as the biggest worry for the Warriors after being restricted to the sidelines owing to a groin strain this afternoon.
Apart from Musona’s battle for fitness, Sunday Chidzambwa is satisfied and confident his charges can deliver.
The afternoon training session was graced by ZIFA president Felton Kamambo who gave an update on the availability of the much talked about Umbro kit.
With a number of players vying for maiden appearances, Chidzambwa has been impressed by the likes of Admiral Muskwe, Kelvin Lunga and Butholezwe Ncube.
As the build up to Sunday’s crunch encounter continues, Chidzambwa will have his fingers crossed as he seeks to guide the Warriors to a fourth AFCON qualification.
