Lithium production is headed for a massive growth underlined by three new deals expected to be sealed mid next month.

Lithium is fast gaining traction as a key resource that can transform the country’s mining outlook boosted by the huge deposits identified across the country.

Investors are flocking to the sector with Australian based Prospect Resources already firmly on the ground prospecting for the much sought mineral.

Mines and Mining Development Minister Winston Chitando is bullish of the prospects from the resource revealing that three new deals will be sealed next month, a development that will position Zimbabwe on the global map.

Zimbabwe can leverage on the transition to electric vehicles on the global market to make a footprint as both supplier and manufacturer of ion batteries used to power these vehicles.

Effectively this will translate to huge earnings and expand on the job opportunities within this sector.

Lithium is emerging as the most sought after mineral in the manufacturing of the batteries which power electric vehicles due to its high power to weight ratio which increases vehicle performance.
