Leaders of business have been called upon to remain resilient in the face of adversities and help in the development of economy so that the government achieves an upper middle income status by 2030.

Speaking at the National Business Awards in the capital this Friday (yesterday), renowned industrialist and presidential advisory council member Mr Joe Mutizwa applauded the companies and its leaders who have remained strong and innovative in the face of various economic headwinds.

He said it is of paramount importance to recognise the achievements of these organisations and entrepreneurs so that they continue to grow the economy and create employment.

Convenor of the National Business Awards Dr Tafadzwa Matsika said it is worthy recognising the efforts of those complimenting the government in its quest to grow the economy.

At the ceremony, award winners and nominees recognised the need to help with rescue and relief efforts in the aftermath of the cyclone by donating goods worth and cash amounting to $RTGS 150 000.
